This year we are hosted by the brand new Glossopdale School on Newshaw Lane! So come along to watch our collection of short films – from animation to comedy and everything inbetween – and be part of the Z-Go premiere!

We enjoyed celebrating the inspiring work done by elderly participants of a new project – a partnership between High Peak Community Arts and New Mills and District Volunteer Centre entitled ‘Together Through Art.’ Funded by the Co-op Community Fund, with a grant of £3,544.84, the project targeted elders in the New Mills area who are isolated but who would like to get out, meet others, have fun and be creative. Participants worked with the professional artist Amanda Whewell to create a wall hanging for the New Mills Volunteer Centre.
THIS SUNDAY! TICKETS STILL AVAIL. ONLINE! Join us for an afternoon of spine-tingling musical inspiration! Internationally acclaimed pianist George King will play pieces from the worlds of musical theatre, jazz and classical music.
George King is one of the most versatile pianist/composers working today. He has won numerous international awards for his classical compositions. His concert repertoire stretches from the Pre-Baroque era through to the modern classics of the 21st Century and his performances have taken him to the most prestigious venues in the world, including The Carnegie Hall. George is also in high demand as a jazz pianist. He currently works with many of the UK’s leading orchestras.

Project eARTh invites you to the celebration and unveiling of ‘Bird Life Textiles’, hand-printed, appliqued and embroidered curtains, made especially for Buxton URC Church (Hardwick Square East SK17 6PT). Made by participants of Project eARTh with artist Amanda Whewell. Monday 18th June 2018, 1pm-2.30pm.

Project eARTh and Furness Vale’s COGS (Community Organising Green Space), invite you to ‘Celebrate Furness Vale’, an unveiling of two new ceramic signs! You can also explore the mosaic trial in Furness Vale Community Field (Park Avenure, SK23 7PT) on Tuesday 12th June from 10.30am-12 noon. The project showcases work by Project eARTh participants, with artisis Caroline Chouler-Tissier and Debra Tracy.

Join us to celebrate and unveil these beautiful ceramic sculptures made by Project eARTh participants with artist Elaine Lim-Newton. They have been designed especially for Haddon Hall Care Home’s garden, to give brightness and colour, even in the depths of winter. Monday 21st May, 10.30am. Free event. The Tall Tales music and arts sessions return!! Thanks to our new Youth Music grant these popular sessions are back – so if you are age 8+ come down to learn instruments, jam together, write songs, stories, make art and work together!! Sunday July 15th:
Felt your own unique cushion from High Peak fleece, using the wet felting technique and resist templates. Choose from a variety of natural coloured wool for the base and add a design using hand-dyed High Peak wool.

DYE TO DROP SPINDLE
Saturday 23rd June: Card Peak District wool using hand carders and drum carders. Dye carded and uncarded wool.
Sunday 24th June: Have a go at spinning your dyed wool, using a drop spindle. Use this ancient and simple tool to create some experimental yarns. Create singles and ply them. Take home a skein of wool and a drop spindle.
Prices: £65 for one day to include refreshments, lunch and all materials.
£60 per day if you book three days or more.
10% Discount for ‘Friends of High Peak Community Arts’ (become a Friend by donating £2 or more per month). Proceeds all go towards our targeted project work in arts and health, or with young people.
