Would you like to buy a 2013 calendar full of beautiful lino prints?
New Mills Project eARTh have just completed a lino print project with artist Jill Kerr to create a calendar. In just 6 sessions, the group learnt to design their artwork, to cut the design into lino, and print it onto different backgrounds. Some people have hand coloured the prints, others left them black and white. From the host of seasonal images created, we chose images for each month, and put together a collection of short literary quotes to accompany them. The calendar has been excellently put together by graphic designer Armelle Hatch, and a limited edition is now available to buy for just £5, plus £2 p and p. (Or you can come to High Lee Hall to collect one for just the £5. Phone first to check we are in).
Please make cheques payable to High Peak Community Arts.

Peak Inside is the result of six months of workshops in creative writing, illustration, photography and desk top publishing by members of our magazine project, and reflects their passions, interests and experiences.
On Monday evenings until June 25th we are writing and shooting a film at Spring Bank Arts Centre, with help from Matt Kowalczuk (Community Arts Northwest) and some young drama students from New Mills School.
At the intro session people learnt some technical skills and tried their first acting to camera…
A second group are joining from Monday 14th May to work on the soundtrack:
The group at Revival Church will be writing, recording and producing a sound track for the film, and the two groups will stay in touch, sharing material via the webtool, mentioned above, ‘Prezi’.
How to use Prezi: Click on the play arrow to load the Prezi and then zoom in and out with the – and + on the righthand side; drag it with the mouse and click on items that look interesting. You can also use the < and > arrows to move through the Prezi in a more traditional way.
Come along from 23rd April to find out more about making films in your spare time!
